Farm to Table: Chamard Vineyards

Just two miles down the road from us in CT is charming Chamard Vineyards. Victor and I have watched the vineyard go through a major transformation over the last couple years and it’s wonderful to see it thriving.  The 40-acre property has 20 acres of established vines and the setting is absolutely beautiful. Most recently they have added a Bistro & Farm Kitchen dedicated to using local purveyors. And they also expanded their own garden to supply their kitchen with as much on-site produce as possible. It’s a true farm to kitchen experience.

Their garden has been producing so much lately that they invited their neighbors and loyal patrons to drop by and "pick from the garden." So on Saturday, Victor and I headed over with our farmers market basket in hand.....

But first we enjoyed lunch outside in their tasting room while listening to live music and sipping red wine....

We came home with bunches and bunches of basil, dozens of tomatoes, all different types of squash, eggplant, and lots of red lettuce and arugula. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon and we are so appreciative of Chamard's hospitality.  If you get a chance to visit CT's wine country, be sure to check-out Chamard. You won't be disappointed!

Oh, and pop by tomorrow to see how I put our bounty to use!
