Healthy Super Bowl Snacks

The Big Game day is tomorrow! Are you gearing up to have some friends over or heading out to a  Super Bowl party? We will be watching country style in a large barn at our neighbors house and plan on bringing over some of the dishes below. Game day fare tends to be pretty heavy and often quite high in saturated fat. Lighten things up and try making some of these delicious healthier options. Best of luck to your team!!

Set-up a chili bar with all your favorite fixings such as chopped red onion, chives, guacamole and substitute sour cream with greek yogurt for an even healthier alternative.
Skip the red meat and instead go for these delicious vegan mini-sliders.
Guacamole is always a crowd pleaser. Added bonus - the glutathione in avocado is thought to boost the immune system, slow the aging process, and encourage a healthy nervous system.
Sweet potatoes are high in vitamin C and carotenoids, both which help protect against the effects of aging. Bake instead of frying and go for the mango salsa as an alternative to sugar loaded ketchup.
Whole wheat naan crust is lighter and takes longer to digest than a white bread crust leaving you fuller and less hungry. Load the pizza with lots of fresh vegetables of your choice and use fresh mozzarella.
